Summary
CVE-2024-32650 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting the Rustls TLS library. This library, written in Rust, contains a flaw in the `rustls::ConnectionCommon::complete_io` function. When a blocking Rustls server receives a `close_notify` message from a client immediately following a `client_hello`, this function can enter an infinite loop. This issue, which is fixed in versions 0.23.5, 0.22.4, and 0.21.11, can lead to network disruptions and potential security risks. The vulnerability arises due to the server's inability to properly handle certain client behaviors and may result in significant performance degradation or even denial-of-service conditions.
