Summary

CVE-2024-26146 is a vulnerability in the Rack Ruby web server interface that can result in a denial of service issue. The vulnerability affects the parsing of Accept and Forwarded headers, causing header parsing to take longer than expected. However, Rack applications using Ruby 3.2 or newer are unaffected as there are mitigations in place. The vulnerability has been fixed in versions 2.0.9.4, 2.1.4.4, 2.2.8.1, and 3.0.9.1 of Rack. This vulnerability poses a medium risk with a base severity score of 5.3 according to the CVSS:3.1 score provided by [email protected], but it requires no privileges or user interaction to exploit and has low attack complexity and low availability impact.
