Details
Summary
CVE-2024-24559 is a vulnerability affecting Vyper, a Pythonic Smart Contract Language for the Ethereum Virtual Machine. The issue lies in the compilation process of the `sha3_64` function, where the `height` variable is incorrectly calculated. This error does not pose a significant risk as it cannot be triggered through regular Vyper code. The vulnerability only becomes exploitable when manually compiling the `IR` (Intermediate Representation) for `sha3_64`. The impact of this issue is considered low since it doesn't impact the normal compilation of Vyper code. At the time of publication, a patch to address this vulnerability is not yet available.
