Details
Summary
CVE-2024-20293 is a logic error vulnerability affecting Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software. This issue allows unauthenticated, remote attackers to bypass the access control list (ACL) protections on an affected device. The vulnerability arises when an ACL transitions from inactive to active in the running configuration. An attacker can exploit this flaw by sending traffic that should be denied by the ACL, resulting in unintended access to trusted networks. Conversely, legitimate traffic might be incorrectly blocked. This vulnerability impacts both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic, making dual-stack ACL configurations susceptible to exploitation.
