Details
Summary
CVE-2024-0612 is a vulnerability that affects the Content Views - Post Grid, Slider, Accordion (Gutenberg Blocks and Shortcode) plugin for WordPress. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts via admin settings, leading to stored cross-site scripting. This can occur in multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. The danger lies in the fact that these injected scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the affected page. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update their plugin to version 3.6.3 or above, which includes sufficient input sanitization and output escaping to prevent this exploit.
