Summary
CVE-2023-7242 is a vulnerability affecting versions d78dda6 and prior of the ICSNPP Ethercat Zeek Plugin. An out-of-bounds read issue exists in the plugin's packet analysis process, which an attacker can exploit to crash the Zeek process and potentially leak sensitive information from memory. This vulnerability poses a risk to industrial control systems and may be used for disruptive or information-stealing attacks.
