Summary

A critical vulnerability, identified as CVE-2023-6578, has been discovered in Software AG WebMethods 10.11.x/10.15.x. The vulnerability arises from an unknown function in the file wm.server/connect/, leading to improper access controls. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely, allowing an attacker to gain unauthorized access to sensitive data such as internal IPs, ports, and versions. A popup requesting username and password may appear when accessing certain files, but by clicking "CANCEL," the attacker can bypass this and gain access to the directory. Insufficient access control appears to depend on referrer header data. Remediation for this vulnerability has not been provided by the vendor, posing a potential danger to organizations using affected versions of Software AG WebMethods.
