Details
Summary
CVE-2023-5764 is a template injection vulnerability affecting Ansible, an open-source configuration management tool. The flaw lies in the controller's internal templating operations, which may inadvertently remove the unsafe designation from template data. Maliciously crafted files can then be used to introduce templating injection during data supply, potentially leading to unintended execution of arbitrary code or unauthorized system access. This vulnerability underscores the importance of secure handling and validation of user-supplied data in configuration management systems.
