Summary
CVE-2023-5377 represents a significant out-of-bounds read vulnerability that affected the gpac repository on GitHub, specifically before version 2.2.2-DEV. This issue enabled an attacker to read memory outside of the designated bounds, potentially exposing sensitive data or causing system instability. By manipulating specially crafted input, an intruder could exploit the flaw and gain unintended access to data, posing a serious security risk. GitHub users were advised to update their gpac installations promptly to mitigate this vulnerability.
