Details
Summary
CVE-2023-5370 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting CPUs where the system fails to implement speculative execution workarounds properly. Specifically, on CPU 0, the check for a SMCCC (Secure Memory Encryption and Capability Control) workaround is executed prior to the initialization of SMCCC support. As a consequence, CPU 0 does not receive any speculative execution workarounds, potentially leaving it susceptible to certain types of attacks. This issue could lead to privilege escalation or information disclosure if exploited successfully. System administrators should apply the relevant patches to mitigate this vulnerability.
