Summary

CVE-2023-49293 is a vulnerability affecting the Vite website frontend framework. It allows for arbitrary HTML injection into the transformed output when the HTML transformation is manually invoked and the request URL is passed unmodified. This vulnerability affects only apps using `appType: 'custom'` and the default Vite HTML middleware, with an inline script in the HTML entry. To remediate this vulnerability, it is recommended to update to [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected]. The potential danger of this vulnerability lies in the ability for an attacker to inject malicious code into the transformed output, potentially leading to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
