Details
Summary
CVE-2023-48310 is a critical vulnerability in TestingPlatform, a testing platform for Internet Security Standards. Prior to version 2.1.1, the software does not filter user input correctly, allowing Nmap options to be accepted without proper validation. This can lead to the creation of log files as root and render existing files useless, potentially causing denial of service. Additionally, attackers can exploit this vulnerability to scan any CIDR blocks, including 0.0.0.0/0 or local networks. The issue has been patched in version 2.1.1 to address these security concerns.
