Summary

CVE-2023-48293 is a cross-site request forgery vulnerability in the XWiki Admin Tools Application prior to version 4.5.1. This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary database queries, modify and delete all data on the wiki, and create an account with elevated privileges. The vulnerability can be exploited by embedding an image with specific wiki syntax in the comments section of the wiki. The impact of this vulnerability includes potential damage to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the XWiki instance. The vulnerability has been patched in version 4.5.1 by adding form token checks, and manual patching is also an option.
