Summary
CVE-2023-47537 is a newly disclosed vulnerability that affects various versions of Fortinet FortiOS, including 7.0.0-13, 7.2.0-6, 7.4.0-1, and 6.4. This issue involves an improper certificate validation, enabling a remote, unauthenticated attacker to carry out Man-in-the-Middle attacks on the FortiLink communication channel between a FortiOS device and a FortiSwitch. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it allows unauthorized access and data interception during the encryption process. Successful exploitation could lead to sensitive information disclosure or even system takeover.
