Summary

CVE-2023-41180 is a cyber vulnerability that affects Apache NiFi MiNiFi C++ versions 0.13 to 0.14. It involves incorrect certificate validation in InvokeHTTP, allowing an intermediary to present a forged certificate during TLS handshake negotiation. The vulnerability occurs when using HTTPS and the Disable Peer Verification property of InvokeHTTP is effectively flipped, disabling verification by default. To mitigate this vulnerability, users should set the Disable Peer Verification property to true when using MiNiFi C++ versions 0.13.0 or 0.14.0, or upgrade to MiNiFi C++ 0.15.0 which corrects the default behavior. This vulnerability has a medium base severity rating and high integrity impact but no confidentiality impact.
