Summary
CVE-2023-41048 is a vulnerability affecting plone.namedfile in versions prior to 5.6.1, 6.0.3, 6.1.3, and 6.2.1. This vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks on SVG images in Plone Dexterity content. While a security hotfix in 2021 addressed some aspects of the issue, the problem remains for scales of SVG images. Exploiting this vulnerability requires an attacker to upload an image and trick a user into clicking a specially crafted link. Patches are available for the affected Plone versions, and there are no known workarounds.
