Summary

CVE-2023-39249 is a local Authentication Bypass vulnerability affecting Dell SupportAssist for Business PCs version 3.4.0. This issue allows non-admin users, who have already gained local access, to temporarily elevate their privileges within the SupportAssist User Interface. The granted privilege is limited to the SupportAssist application and expires after 15 minutes. IT administrators can use this vulnerability to perform driver scans and install recommended drivers without logging out of their non-admin user session. However, this privilege escalation does not extend beyond the SupportAssist interface.
