Summary

CVE-2023-38880 is a broken access control vulnerability found in the Community Edition version 9.0 of OS4ED's openSIS Classic. This vulnerability allows any unauthenticated actor to access a database backup file that is stored in the web root and has a predictable file name format. The file contains a dump of the entire database, including password hashes. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of CRITICAL and poses a high risk to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized access and potential compromise of sensitive data.
