Summary

CVE-2023-36266 is a vulnerability discovered in Keeper Password Manager for Desktop version 16.10.2 and the KeeperFill Browser Extensions version 16.5.4. It allows local attackers to gain sensitive information by accessing plaintext passwords stored in memory after the user has logged in, and this information may persist even after logout. The vendor disputes this vulnerability, claiming that the information is inherently available during a logged-in session and that it remains available after logout due to memory-management limitations of web browsers rather than the Keeper technology itself. The vulnerability has a base severity of MEDIUM, with a base score of 5.5, and poses a high confidentiality impact to organizations using affected products.
