Summary

CVE-2023-34053 is a vulnerability found in Spring Framework versions 6.0.0 - 6.0.13. This vulnerability allows a user to send specially crafted HTTP requests that can lead to a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability affects applications that use Spring MVC or Spring WebFlux, have the io.micrometer:micrometer-core library on the classpath, and have an ObservationRegistry configured to record observations. In order to meet all conditions, Spring Boot applications typically require the org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-actuator dependency. The vulnerability has a base severity of MEDIUM with a base score of 5.3 out of 10 and an exploitability score of 3.9 out of 10. It poses a potential danger to organizations as it can result in service disruption or unavailability if exploited.
