Summary
CVE-2023-20034 is a vulnerability affecting the Elasticsearch database in Cisco SD-WAN vManage software. This issue allows unauthenticated, remote attackers to gain access to the Elasticsearch configuration database with the privileges of the elasticsearch user. The root cause is a static username and password that are hardcoded and easily exploited. An attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to an accessible vManage on port 9200 to successfully exploit this vulnerability and view the Elasticsearch database content.
