Summary
CVE-2023-1943 is a newly disclosed privilege escalation vulnerability that affects the kOps open-source tool when using the Google Cloud Provider in gossip mode. This issue allows attackers to escalate their privileges and potentially gain unauthorized access to critical resources. kOps is a popular tool for deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters, and its use of the Google Cloud Provider in gossip mode, which enables automatic discovery of nodes and services, has inadvertently introduced this vulnerability.
