Summary

CVE-2022-44684 is a significant vulnerability affecting Fortinet FortiOS versions 7.2.0 through 7.2.1 and 7.0.0 through 7.0.6, FortiProxy versions 7.2.0 and 7.0.0 through 7.0.6, and FortiSwitchManager versions 7.2.0 and 7.0.0. This issue enables unauthenticated attackers to bypass Fortinet's authentication mechanism and access the administrative interface via specially crafted HTTP or HTTPS requests. By leveraging an alternate path or channel (CWE-288), attackers can perform various operations without proper authorization, posing a severe risk to network security.
