Details
Summary
CVE-2024-6307 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting WordPress Core. This issue, which affects versions prior to 6.5.5, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into URLs. Due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, these injected scripts can then be executed whenever a user accesses a page with the injected URL. This poses a significant security risk, as attackers can steal sensitive information, manipulate data, or launch further attacks on unsuspecting users. It is essential that WordPress users upgrade to the latest version to mitigate this vulnerability.
