Summary

CVE-2024-6301 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Conduit's federation API. The issue lies in the lack of origin validation, enabling any remote server to impersonate any user from any server in most Educational institutions. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access to user accounts, potentially resulting in data breaches or other malicious activities. Conduit urges affected organizations to apply the available patch or workaround as soon as possible to mitigate this risk. Failure to do so may leave user accounts vulnerable to unauthorized access and impersonation.
