Summary

CVE-2024-6257 refers to a vulnerability in HashiCorp's go-getter library. Hackers can manipulate the library into executing a Git update on a Git Configuration that has been maliciously modified. This unintended execution can result in arbitrary code execution, posing a significant security risk for affected systems.
