Summary

CVE-2024-5970 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the MaxGalleria plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the plugin's maxgallery_thumb shortcode, which does not properly sanitize or escape user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious web scripts. When a user accesses an injected page, the scripts are executed, potentially leading to unintended actions or data disclosure. All versions up to and including 6.4.4 are affected.
