Summary

CVE-2024-5891 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting Quay. An attacker who manages to obtain a client ID for an application can misuse an OAuth token to authenticate, bypassing organizational access restrictions. This flaw is confined to the authentication process and not authorization. However, if endpoints solely depend on authentication for access control, users could gain unauthorized entry to applications they should not have access to.
