Summary

CVE-2024-5798 is a vulnerability affecting Vault and Vault Enterprise. The issue lies in the JWT auth method, where the platform fails to adequately validate the audience claim of JSON Web Tokens. This flaw may result in Vault incorrectly accepting a JWT with mismatched audience and role-bound claims, permitting unauthorized logins. Vault versions 1.15.9, 1.16.3, and 1.17.0 have been released to address this vulnerability.
