Details
Summary
CVE-2024-4862 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WPBITS Addons For Elementor Page Builder plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.5, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject malicious scripts into several widgets. The insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in these widgets make it possible for the attacker to execute arbitrary web scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page. This poses a significant security risk, as it can lead to unintended website functionality, data theft, or even full website takeover. Users are strongly urged to update the plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
