Summary
CVE-2024-4693 is a vulnerability affecting QEMU's Virtio PCI Bindings (hw/virtio/virtio-pci.c). The issue arises from an improper handling of the irqfd for vector 0 during boot. Malicious guests can exploit this flaw by triggering a crash in the QEMU process on the host through vhost_net_stop(). This vulnerability poses a significant risk as it allows guests to gain unintended control over the host system.
