Summary
CVE-2024-4242 is a newly disclosed critical vulnerability that impacts the Tenda W9 1.0.0.7(4456) firmware. The issue lies in the formwrlSSIDget function of the /goform/wifiSSIDget file, which is susceptible to stack-based buffer overflow due to manipulation of the ssidIndex argument. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, making it a significant security risk. The exploit has already been made public, increasing the urgency for affected users to take corrective measures. The vulnerability has been assigned the identifier VDB-262133. Unfortunately, the vendor was not responsive to early disclosure attempts.
