Summary
CVE-2024-4185 is a vulnerability affecting the Customer Email Verification plugin for WooCommerce on WordPress. The issue lies in the insufficiently random activation codes used for email verification, allowing unauthenticated attackers to bypass this security measure. If additional settings, such as "Login the user automatically after the account is verified" and "Verify account for current users," are enabled, attackers may also bypass authentication for other user accounts. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to WordPress sites using the affected plugin and requires urgent attention for patching or mitigation.
