Summary

CVE-2024-34073 is a secondary vulnerability affecting the sagemaker-python-sdk library used for training and deploying machine learning models on Amazon SageMaker. The vulnerability lies in the capture_dependencies function in the `sagemaker.serve.save_retrive.version_1_0_0.save.utils` module, which allows for potential OS Command Injection if an inappropriate command is passed as the "requirements_path" parameter. This can lead to remote code execution and denial of service attacks, compromising both confidentiality and integrity. The issue has been addressed in version 2.214.3, and users are advised to upgrade. If upgrading is not possible, it is recommended not to override the "requirements_path" parameter and instead use the default value to mitigate the risk.
