Summary
CVE-2024-33540 is a Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting ThemeGrill ColorNews, version 1.2.6 and earlier. This issue arises due to improper neutralization of user input during web page generation. A successful exploit results in Stored XSS, enabling attackers to inject malicious scripts into web pages viewed by other users. These scripts can steal user data, execute malicious code, or launch further attacks. Users are advised to update ColorNews to a patched version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
