Summary
CVE-2024-31986 is a vulnerability affecting XWiki Platform versions 3.1 and earlier. It allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the server by creating a document with a specially crafted documented reference and an `XWiki.SchedulerJobClass` XObject. The vulnerability has been fixed in versions 4.10.19, 15.5.5, and 15.9 of XWiki. A workaround is available by manually modifying the `Scheduler.WebHome` page. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it can be exploited remotely over the network, requires low privileges, and has a high impact on both integrity and confidentiality of the affected system.
