Summary

CVE-2024-31453 is a vulnerability affecting the PsiTransfer file sharing solution before version 2.2.0. This issue arises due to the absence of restrictions on the endpoint used for file uploads, enabling attackers to add unsanitized files to distributions. Malicious files can be slipped to users downloading the distribution after an attacker, potentially causing harm through malware or phishing attacks. The patch in version 2.2.0 addresses the issue. Distinct from this vulnerability, CVE-2024-31454, allows users to manipulate individual files that others upload, introducing data integrity risks and requiring separate security measures.
