Details
Summary
CVE-2024-3066 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Elegant Addons plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.0.8, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into the plugin's widgets. The insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied tag attributes enable the attacker to execute arbitrary web scripts whenever a user visits an injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant threat as it can lead to data theft, privilege escalation, and other forms of unauthorized access. Users are strongly advised to update the plugin to the latest version, or consider disabling the plugin until a patch is available.
