Summary

CVE-2024-3065 is a vulnerability found in the PayPal Pay Now, Buy Now, Donation and Cart Buttons Shortcode plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages and execute them when a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in all versions up to and including 1.7 of the plugin. It should be noted that this vulnerability only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. The risk score for this vulnerability is 5, with a base severity of MEDIUM. Remediation for this issue involves updating the plugin to a version that addresses the vulnerability.
