Summary

CVE-2024-29833 is a vulnerability affecting an image upload component. The component allows the upload of SVG files, but its regular expression for removing script tags is bypassable through a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attack. Attackers can insert a script payload that includes whitespace within the tag, evading the regular expression's detection. An authenticated user with relevant permissions is required to exploit this vulnerability, but the payload becomes accessible to unauthenticated users once uploaded. This issue poses a significant risk, as it allows attackers to inject malicious scripts into a system, potentially leading to unauthorized access, data theft, or other malicious activities.
