Summary

CVE-2024-29200 is a vulnerability affecting the Kimai web-based time-tracking application. The issue arises from the different behavior of the `view_other_timesheet` permission in the Kimai UI and API, leading to unexpected data leakage through the API. While users with this permission can only view timesheet entries for their teams in the UI, all timesheet entries are returned when requesting them from the API, regardless of team permissions. The vulnerability has been patched in version 2.13.0. This vulnerability has a base severity of MEDIUM and a base score of 6.8 according to the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS). It poses a high risk to organizations as it allows unauthorized access to sensitive timesheet data through the API.
