Summary
CVE-2024-29196 is a new Path Traversal vulnerability affecting the open-source FAQ application, phpMyFAQ. This issue, which exists in the Attachments feature, allows administrators to upload malicious files to arbitrary locations in the web root. Successful exploitation could result in unauthorized file access, modification, or even server takeover. It is critical that users of phpMyFAQ versions prior to 3.2.6 take immediate action to apply the appropriate patch or upgrade to mitigate this risk.
