Summary

CVE-2024-29042 is a vulnerability that affects the Translate package on Node.js and the browser. Prior to version 3.0.0, an attacker could manipulate the `opt.id` parameter to perform a cache poisoning attack. By setting the `id` variable to the cache key generated by another user, they could control the translation response for subsequent users. The issue has been fixed in version 3.0.0 of the package. This vulnerability has a base severity of MEDIUM and a base score of 5.3, with an exploitability score of 3.9. It poses a potential danger to organizations as it allows attackers to manipulate translation requests and potentially compromise the integrity of data.
