Summary
CVE-2024-28853 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Ampache, a web-based audio/video streaming application and file manager. Before version 6.3.1, Ampache was susceptible to this issue, which enabled remote attackers to inject malicious code into serval parameters in the /preferences.php?action=admin_update_preferences post request. By exploiting this vulnerability, an attacker could execute unwanted scripts on users who visited a specially crafted webpage, potentially leading to data theft or system compromise. The vulnerability is now resolved in version 6.3.1.
