Summary

CVE-2024-28849 is a vulnerability in the open source module follow-redirects, which is used as a replacement for Node's `http` and `https` modules. This vulnerability affects versions prior to 1.15.6 and occurs when follow-redirects handles cross-domain redirects. It fails to clear the proxy-authentication header, which may contain credentials, while it clears the authorization header. As a result, this vulnerability could potentially lead to the leak of sensitive credentials. To remediate this issue, users are advised to upgrade to version 1.15.6 or later. There are currently no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
