Summary
CVE-2024-2839 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Colibri Page Builder plugin for WordPress. Versions up to 1.0.263 are impacted by this issue. Attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability by injecting malicious scripts into the 'colibri_post_title' shortcode's 'heading_type' attribute. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk. The root cause of this vulnerability is insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. WordPress users are advised to update to the latest version of the Colibri Page Builder plugin to mitigate this risk.
