Summary

CVE-2024-28195 is a vulnerability affecting YourSpotify versions prior to 1.9.0. This vulnerability exposes the API and login flow to Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks, potentially allowing attackers to retrieve, modify, or delete data in the affected YourSpotify instance. By exploiting repeated CSRF attacks, an attacker can also create a new user on the victim's instance and elevate their privileges to become an administrator if a legitimate administrator visits a website prepared by the attacker. The real-world exploitability of this vulnerability depends on the victim's browser version and settings. To remediate this issue, users are advised to upgrade to version 1.9.0 or later. Currently, there are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
