Summary

CVE-2024-28118 is a vulnerability that affects Grav, an open-source content management system. In versions prior to 1.7.45, there is unrestricted access to the twig extension class from the Grav context, allowing an attacker to redefine a config variable and bypass previous server-side template injection (SSTI) mitigations. This vulnerability can be exploited by any administrative user with the ability to create or edit pages and enables arbitrary code execution and privilege escalation on the affected instance. The issue has been addressed in version 1.7.45, which contains a fix for this vulnerability. The vulnerability has a high severity rating and poses significant risks to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized code execution and compromise the integrity and confidentiality of the affected system.
