Summary

CVE-2024-28117 is a vulnerability affecting the open-source content management system, Grav. Before version 1.7.45, Grav's Utils::isDangerousFunction function fails to restrict Twig functions like twig_array_map during validation. This oversight enables attackers to bypass validation and execute arbitrary commands. With Twig processing of static pages enabled, an administrative user can exploit this vulnerability, leading to arbitrary code execution and privilege escalation on the affected instance. To mitigate this risk, users are advised to upgrade to the patched version 1.7.45.
