Summary

CVE-2024-28102 is a vulnerability in JWCrypto, a library that implements JWK, JWS, and JWE specifications using python-cryptography. Prior to version 1.5.6, an attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious JWE Token with a high compression ratio, resulting in a denial of service attack. The server will consume excessive memory and processing time when processing this token. However, the vulnerability has been addressed in version 1.5.6 by limiting the maximum token length. This vulnerability has a base severity rating of MEDIUM and requires HIGH privileges to exploit. It poses a potential danger to organizations as it can lead to availability issues if not remediated promptly.
